Welcome to Dysart's Transportation
History
Ed Dysart, the grandfather of the current President, originally started Dysarts as various types of businesses back in the 40's and 50's. By about 1952, the business was established as a gas station and garage in Bangor where Interstate 95 currently intersects with Hammond St. At the time, of course, the interstate did not exist.
When the interstate was built, Ed was forced to move his business to Brewer, and eventually to the current location of Dysart's Truckstop in 1967.
Eventually, the business began to thrive, and expansions were made. For years the main truckstop building served as store, restaurant, shop and washbay. As business increased, a separate shop was built directly across the Coldbrook Rd. from the truckstop, and it is this building that now houses the washbay as well.
In 1981, Dave and his son Ed Dysart officially founded Dysart's Transportation as a common contract carrier. It has continued to grow and expand to its present day situation, servicing hundreds of customers across the Eastern U.S daily.
